Sharon Horgan, the creator of the show Catastrophe, delivers a very dark comedy thriller that is super fun to watch. When their brother-in-law winds up dead, his life insurers launch an investigation to prove malicious intent-and set their sights on the sisters, all of whom had ample reason to kill him. They have always looked out for each other. The series follows the tight-knit Garvey sisters. I honestly had zero expectations and eventually, the characters and the situations that they got into completely won me over. This Apple TV+ series was such a great surprise. So if you are looking for a new show to binge-watch this weekend The Resort may be what you looking for. I really enjoyed how every new episode kept me wanting to see more. Even though both Milioti and Harper have previously portrayed very similar roles, they are incredibly well-cast and have great chemistry together. The series also avoids sliding into some tired investigative clichés. Also, despite its gloomy concept, The Resort never loses its inherent absurdity and its humor. The Resort has its own charm and also has some mystical elements which make the show really cool. People will undoubtedly compare The Resort to The White Lotus and Only Murders in the Building, but it goes beyond a ripoff of these great shows. When Emma and Noah set out on a mission to uncover the truth in the present time, things get a little weird but in the best possible way. In this flashback, we also meet Murray (Nick Offerman), Violet's father, and also get to see some of the characters of the present timeline living in the 2007 timeline. The show then goes to a different timeline and follows Sam's vacation to the island in 2007 and starts to piece together why Sam and Violet vanished. They vanished from a neighboring resort after a storm hit the island fifteen years ago. After getting into an accident, Emma discovers an old cell phone with a picture on it, which she links to a long-running unsolved missing case that involved two people named Sam (Skyler Gisondo) and Violet (Nina Bloomgarden). The series revolves around Emma (Milioti) and Noah (Harper), a couple who are headed to Mexico to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. The Resort is a Peacock’s comedy/murder mystery/thriller starring Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs, Made for Love), and William Jackson Harper (the Good Place). It’s not a given that this is the sort of thing that happens. Here are five TV shows that are worth watching right now: The Resort “I was older and could handle all that came with the job. “I got the job at the right time,” Harper shares. For a moment he even thought about quitting acting, but then he got a well-paying job on “The Good Place” and everything started looking up. He paid his dues being a broke actor and learned a lot from participating in readings and workshops with playwrights such as Lynn Nottage. Before the hit television show, he spent most of his life living in New York, trying to make a career happen in the theater. “I can’t eat all of this, I mean I could, but then I would be like, wow, I ate all this.” “Are all these mine?” he asks, referring to the full plate of fried calamari. William Jackson Harper arrived five minutes early which means he was on time. Yet despite this success and dedicated fan base, the creator, Schur, made the bold choice to wrap up the series on his terms with season 4. Not bad for a series that’s only been on the air for four seasons. If you are a fan of comedy then you already know the charms of “The Good Place,” which has racked up several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations along with a Peabody. On an empty plate, a menu for lunch with an attentive waiter poised, with his pen held high in the air, waiting to take our orders. It’s always nice to get a “free lunch in the city that never sleeps,” and the table was filled with plates of avocado toast and soft, perfectly fried calamari. Thank you NBC brass for inviting us to lunch to meet William Jackson Harper, the handsome man who carved a place in television history playing the character Chidi in NBC’s hit comedy “The Good Place,” created by Mike Schur.
